October 23, 2026

Hello Wickford Middle School Friends and Families,

I hope you have all had a great week!

Our Cross Country teams are headed to the State Championships on Sunday morning at Deerfield Park, Smithfield RI.  The Girls race is first at 11:00AM, followed by the Boys race at 11:45AM.  Best of luck!!

We will be sending out the information for sign ups for Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for Election Day, November 3rd.

Please see the announcement about online payment for Cafeteria accounts.  The system is up and running for next week!

REMINDER:

During arrival in the morning, please be very cautious if you are attempting to pass cars ahead of you that have children actively getting out of their vehicles.  Some children exit the left side (road side) of the vehicles and drivers should refrain from  passing cars until the children are safely around the car and on the sidewalk.  We have had several near misses as parents try to get around cars that are actively unloading children!

Thanks very much for your cooperation in ensuring the safety of our children.

Have a great week ahead!

Stay Well,

David J Flanagan

Principal

Early Dismissal pick-up routine (CHANGED, PLEASE READ)

Parents and Guardians are reminded to email or call to let us know if your student will need to be picked up by an approved contact (listed in ASPEN).  Or have your student bring a signed note from you and give it to the clerks in the office.

The main phone number is 401-268-6470

The clerks are:

Meggean Ward (meggean_ward@nksd.net - 401-268-6471)

Allison Aquino (allison_aquino@nksd.net - 401-268-6483)

For medical questions or calling in sick, please contact our nurse:

Lisa Ennis  (lisa_ennis@nksd.net - 401-268-6468)

The process once arriving at WMS:

Come to door A2 and buzz at the side of the building,

wait for us to talk to you.

Let us know which person(s) you are picking up.

We will instruct you to come in, and come up to the office WITH YOUR Identification/license.

**Please make sure that you are here BEFORE 2:15pm to avoid the buses and to ensure we can can get your student(s) properly and safely signed out.**

BUS USE

This is a reminder that students are not allowed to take any bus other than their assigned bus.

This is a district rule.

Students cannot go home on a friend’s bus under any circumstances.

Thank you for your cooperation.

STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS (and Loaners)

Students need to come to school with a fully charged Chromebook.

Loaners are here for those students whose Chromebooks are out to be repaired.  If a charger is broken, those can also go out for repair, just have the student bring it to us in the office.

The WMS Chromebook policy is that students who have NOT charged their computer will NOT get a loaner.  It is the student's responsibility to have their charged Chromebook.  Teachers will give a pass for a student to use a Chromebook for tests only.

Afternoon Parent Pick-up

Parents and Guardians are reminded that they need to form a single line only on the left side of the building, queuing in the back of the building at pick up.  It is imperative for the safety of the students and staff that drivers wait until released by WMS Staff before advancing towards Tower Hill Road. The WMS Staff will indicate when it is safe to leave, after most buses have exited the front of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation.

ELEVATOR ACCESS / KEY

Should your child need access to the elevator due to injury, etc. We will require a signed form with a deposit of $10.00.

The deposit will become a fee if the key is lost/not returned to the office.

Please see the attached form

Thank you for your help in this matter.
